Belly River Trail, Glacier National Park, Mont.
Todd Jewell's photo from Glacier National Park is proof that it pays to travel beyond the beaten path.
Jewell got this shot, taken along the Belly River Trail between Cosley Lake and the Canadian border, after backpacking for four days in August 2010. During that time Jewell covered about 35 miles -- and took about 1,500 pictures.
"This was taken on our last day on the hike out," Jewell told TODAY.com. "I took a ton of photos due to the tremendous beauty and opportunities for shots like this." Learn more about visiting Montana's Glacier National Park here.
